Richard Holzer, PE, NCEES, LEED AP BD+C, HBPD
As a Managing Principal Engineer at Southland Engineering, Richard Holzer is responsible for managing the engineering, building information modeling, and constructibility group within our Garden Grove, California, office. As an ambassador of utilizing contemporary low energy systems such as radiant sails, chilled beams, and radiant slab cooling and heating, he has been able to deliver sustainable and high-performance designs consistently.
Since joining the industry in 1980, Mr. Holzer has proven to be a versatile asset by innovatively creating constructable and sustainable solutions. His vast knowledge in all levels of LEED certifications and his ability to clearly communicate technical issues with simplicity have aided in his work on projects such as Disney Star Wars Land and the Los Angeles Football Club Stadium.
Mr. Holzer received his bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering from the California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. He is actively involved in industry organizations, such as the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Conditioning Engineers, Lean Construction Institute, Design-Build Institute of America, and United States Green Building Council.
